This is very good for kids to learn sentence structure as the child puts the jigsaw puzzle together. It helps them to actually learn and visualize the logical sequence of the sentence structure by doing it hands-on. This would not be possible using CD-ROM.
The colours on the jigsaw puzzle are very striking and all the kids in the family like it very much. The large size and number of puzzle pieces is just nice and manageable for the children.

This jigsaw puzzle is very colourful, it captures and holds my child's attention. It is much easier for him to learn how to answer questions. He really likes to play with it.

Most 'store bought puzzles' are of the 'join the sentences' variety with no particular story line or theme. Sequencing cards prompt a child to arrange and describe the chain of events but these cards are merely pictorial, with no printed words to reinforce verbal skills.

For my family, KLP gives new meaning to Circle Time. Family members take turns to act out a role according to which character ends up facing the people around a dining table. Here's how:
(1) Place the characters of the puzzle on a Lazy Susan on a dining table. (You can improvise with a Frisbee or any circular disc that can spin) Spin once until each person faces a character.
(2) Get each person to introduce him/herself as the character he/she is playing. E.g.: I am Bernie.
(3) Get the person to expand on his/her character like his occupation, work place. E.g. : I'm a referee. I work at the stadium, sports complex, Olympics! .. etc
(4) Proceed to second inner ring of the puzzle that involves verbs. Think of other verbs associated with the character's activity /occupation.
(5) Spin again to assign the subject of the verb. For example, 'hands out music instruments to __________ '. Change the subject to other characters for humorous outcomes.
The possibilities of this game are limited only by your imagination and resourcefulness!
